We visited 4 different places today. Firstly we went to Sichuan Giant Panda breeding and research base. In China, Panda represent peace, good fortune and friendship. They give it to other countries as a gift that represents respect. The pandas here are so adorable and huge. I can’t help but keep taking photos of them. During this journey it reminds me of zoo because it somehow looks the same. Afterwards, we went to 十八手 for our lunch as well as dinner. It is awesome but expensive.
Secondly, we visited Du Fu (杜甫) Thatched Cottage. He was a prominent Chinese poet in the Tang dynasty. He also established the Mao Cao Wu. In 759, Du Fu moved to Chengdu and built a thatched hut. He wrote 241 poems in the thatched hut. The thatched cottage we saw today is different from the original one because it has been reconstructed and renovated many times in the Ming and Qing dynasty. It is now partitioned into a bedroom, study room, kitchen and living room. He left Chengdu due to his poor health and died near Xiang Jiang River at Changsha now.
Thirdly, we visited the Wu Hou Shrine. It is a house dedicated to the memory of both Liu Bei, the Emperor of Shu Kingdom in the Three Kingdom period, and Zhuge Liang, Prime Minister of the Kingdom. They are famous for Calligraphy, Carvings and Materials that time. Liu Bei died in Baidicheng.
Lastly after the tour around Wu Hou Shrine, we went to the small street alley beside the temple for some snacks. All the snacks are looks so tempting and delicious. They even haven roasted pigeon and spicy rabbit head. This two are some of the famous snacks in Sichuan province, Chengdu.
